Kyleakin, Isle of Skye, Scotland
Kyleakin sits on the southeastern edge of the Isle of Skye, overlooking the narrow channel that separates the island from the Scottish mainland. Fishing boats rest quietly along the harbor, with low hills rising behind the village.
Late in the evening, as the sun dropped toward the horizon, warm light spread across the water and settled over the harbor. Boats, buildings, and distant hills were briefly washed in gold, the reflections softening into a near painterly stillness.
Moments like this are part of the rhythm of the Highlands—fleeting shifts of light shaped by cloud, sea air, and time. What held my attention here was the calm: still water, quiet harbor, and a brief alignment of light that lingered just long enough to photograph.
