I was in Maine to photograph fall foliage, but the conditions were not as optimal as we would have liked. So straying from the usual postcard images of white-steepled churches poking out of villages surrounded by acres of color, I found myself more drawn to details. Such as my “wet” series in the black and white gallery. Indeed, as I say over there, revisiting the file of images from that week resulted in some frames that worked wonderfully in B&W.
But I did not come away empty handed in the color department.
This image, and its companion pieces, Autumn Rain, Autumn Remains, and First Frost, were captured along a creek we were exploring. I came away with a number of different images, with different colors and textures. I found the juxtaposition of the green leaf against the vibrant blues of the water visually appealing. The highlights on the water’s surface added additional points of interest.
