Autumn Remains
Autumn Remains
OK, just what does that mean, autumn ‘remains?” Well, “remains of the day” has already been used!
As we were working our way along this stream in Maine, I came to the rocky outcropping, covered in moss and lichens, with these three orphaned leaves, their golden hues contrasting with the greens of the rock covering. To me, they were the survivors, the last remnants of the autumn season. They had found their way to this little landing spot, where they presented themselves to me, inches above the rushing water.
Out came the tripod, so that a long exposure could give me the milky smooth highlights in water rushing by, and once again I combined colors and texture in a capture.
Now, did I move any of the leaves slightly to get a better composition?
Hmmmm…….
