I had pulled over by a quiet lake and, like any good photographer, snapped a few frames of the water. But truthfully, only one of those images stayed with me. The real magic happened a few steps away, entirely by chance.
A Natural Composition Revealed
As I searched for a vantage point, I happened to glance down—and caught a sudden shaft of sunlight breaking through the clouds. It illuminated the base and roots of a massive old tree in front of me. The gnarled, intricate roots, arcing across the forest floor from left to right, created a stunning natural composition. They led the eye directly to the rugged base of the trunk, which stood like a monument to time and resilience.
There was so much texture, so much structure, and just the right splash of color—from the delicate red flower nestled at the top center, to the small flecks of green ground cover that softened the earth tones.
