While exploring near a quiet lake in Maine, a brief break in the clouds sent a beam of light through the canopy. The light fell directly across the gnarled roots of a massive tree, illuminating their intricate structure as they stretched across the ground toward the base of the trunk.
Form and Structure
The scene becomes a study in texture and form—twisting roots, weathered bark, fallen leaves, and patches of moss layered across the forest floor. The roots themselves create a natural composition, illuminating their intricate structure as they stretch across the ground in autumn.
