There is a song that says “The bluest skies you’ve ever seen are in Seattle….”
Now, Seattle can indeed have blue skies, as well as grey and rainy ones. But several of the bluest I have ever seen have been in Chicago. I don’t know, maybe it’s the brisk wind from the north, keeping the pollution at bay, whatever. There was one dinner outside of Frontera Grill when I could not believe the crisp saturated blue of the early evening summer sky.
And the sky in this photo is right up there close to that one. The contrast of the red, white (and yes, blue) of the flag, coupled with the golden light on the building top with its fantastic architectural details, well, just a great splash of color, motion and texture on a summer afternoon in Chicago.
