Our heroine sits calmly atop the red fence, unaware of the camera behind her. She's watching the horizon, waiting for the cowboys to come in from the far pasture under the wide Texas sky.

The scene practically composed itself. That horizontal fence line dissects the bottom third of the frame, while our subject sits perfectly on the left side. The fluffy cumulus clouds hover over our riders, returning from the far pasture, contrasted against the deep tones of the sky on this hot July afternoon. Her straw hat adds the perfect splash of contrast—both a visual accent and a little nod to the culture of ranch life.
