Morning begins early on a working ranch. Before the cattle move and the day gathers momentum, there is often a brief pause as the first light spreads across the corrals.
This photograph captures one of those quiet moments. Two ranch hands stand talking at the edge of the corral as the rising sun outlines their figures and begins to lift the haze from the pasture beyond.
What drew me to the scene was the simplicity of the gesture — a conversation suspended between night and day, work and preparation. The early light reduces the figures to silhouettes, allowing the human presence to anchor the broader landscape without overwhelming it.
The result is a quiet study of ranch life at first light, where routine and reflection briefly share the same space.
