We were up before dawn on assignment at 44 Farms near Cameron, Texas—chasing that elusive magic of “first light.” When we arrived, however, it was first light wrapped in fog.
While we waited for the fog to lift so we could start the day’s planned work, I took the opportunity to make a few personal images. This was one of them—and it quickly became a favorite.
Stillness and Soft Revelation
I was struck by the quiet beauty of a single tree beginning to emerge from the heavy fog, almost as if waking from sleep. The greens and yellows of the pasture gradually came into focus, while the blue sky above crept slowly into view. The scene was peaceful, but rich with quiet drama—a moment suspended between obscurity and clarity.
