A Quiet Moment of Golden Light and Reflection in Mayfair
I was in London for a few days, and after a rewarding Friday night photo walk through the East End and along the Thames—images that would become Tate Modern and Millennium Bridge—I spent Saturday meandering with my camera from Green Park through King’s Road, past the Royal Albert Monument, and eventually back through Market Mews toward my hotel on Half Moon Street. It was once the Hilton Green Park—now known as The Mayfair Townhouse.
A Small Scene with Lasting Resonance
Back in my room, I opened the window to let in the late afternoon breeze. That’s when I noticed it. Golden light glowing through the lace curtain, casting a gentle warmth across the window sash. I paused. It wasn’t a grand scene—but it was full of quiet presence. A photograph, quite literally, right in front of me.
Shot in a moment of stillness, From A Window speaks to the kind of everyday beauty that can easily go unseen:golden light, gentle texture, and a whisper of London at rest.
And yes, the title is a quiet nod to the song by Billy J. Kramer & The Dakotas.
