A Detour into the Unexpected
We had driven west from Jackson Hole, crossing into Idaho past Driggs—home to a small airport co-owned by Harrison Ford. Sharon would meet Harrison years later at a gig, and we even have a great photo of them together.
A Hidden Micro-World in the Mist
Exploring beyond the main path at Upper Mesa Falls, we discovered something quieter, more intimate—a radiant micro-climate created by the mist of the falls.
As the late afternoon sun broke through the western ridge, it sent beams of golden light streaming through the rising mist. Greens popped against chalk-white cliffs, while streaks of orange stone warmed the palette. It was a landscape worthy of film—something Tolkien might’ve dreamed, smoke machines and all.
