Late one evening on Galveston Bay, I was photographing a sailboat from shore while flying a drone above the water. As the sun dropped toward the horizon, the light turned warm and luminous, spreading across the calm surface of the bay.
A Journey Through the Last Light
From above, the scene revealed itself in a new way. The sailboat carved a graceful path through the water, leaving delicate wake lines behind it as the sun reflected across the open bay.
For a few minutes, the light, motion, and stillness of the evening aligned into a scene that felt both cinematic and peaceful — a quiet sail into the last light of the day.
