Late one evening on Galveston Bay, I photographed a lone sailboat from above as the sun dropped toward the horizon.
The light turned warm and luminous, spreading across the calm surface of the water as the boat moved quietly through the open bay.
A Journey Through the Last Light
From an elevated perspective, the scene simplified into shape and motion. The sailboat carved a graceful path, leaving delicate wake lines behind it while the sun traced a band of gold across the water.
For a few minutes, light, motion, and stillness aligned into something both cinematic and serene — a quiet sail into the last light of the day.
