We had been up around 4 AM to make the trek to the top of Cadillac Mountain for the sunrise, historically the first place in the United States that you can see it break the horizon.
After our time up there, we wandered down the park roads, jumping off here and there to capture images such as the waterfall elsewhere in this black and white section, or the autumn grasses you can find in the color galleries.
And I will be honest with you, this is another instance of me not knowing exactly where I found this scene. Although, honestly, it doesn’t really matter. The point is I found a composition that caught my eye, and which presented itself to the camera for recording. Which of course I dutifully did.
This was part of the “All About The Light” Exhibition at The Southeast Center for Photography in Greenville, SC. in 2022, the opening of which we were delighted to attend. It was also selected by juror Charlotte Cotton for inclusion The Texas Photographic Society's TPS31: The International Competition.
