Before me was a grand facade, weathered and wise. Its dark arches were carved with quiet intricacy, their shadows settling in soft contrast beneath a row of windows catching the pale sky.
I lifted the camera, sensing the weight of time in every line.

Living in Houston, where a building seventy years old is considered “vintage,” I find myself almost giddy in Europe. Here, centuries stand shoulder to shoulder, stone beside stone, form upon form—and every façade vies for your gaze.
