Along the rocky coastline of Monterey Bay, the late afternoon light began to soften the landscape. Waves rolled steadily across the shoreline while dramatic clouds drifted overhead, catching the last warm tones of the day.
The foreground rocks glowed in the low sun, their rounded forms creating a textured path that leads the eye toward the sea.
A Moment of Perfect Timing
Just as I composed the scene, a lone bird swept across the frame above the water — a fleeting presence that brought the entire landscape to life.
Moments like that can’t be planned. You simply recognize them when they happen and press the shutter.
